Lincoln County Board Approves Pine Crest Nursing Home Relisting

LINCOLN COUNTY – The Lincoln County Board met Tuesday evening, September 17, and almost half of the 3-hour meeting was spent discussing the situation surrounding county owned nursing facility Pine Crest. The process of reviewing the facilities financial challenges and entertaining potential solutions started more than two years ago with the forming of an ad-hoc review committee.

Board Members had rejected a resolution in August that would have placed a Pine Crest funding referendum on the November ballot. Following lengthy debate and public comment from the citizen group People for Pine Crest, County Supervisors approved moving forward with selling the facility by a 14-8 vote.

The resolution allows the County Administrative and Legislative Committee to explore options for the potential sale of the property, including renewing talks with a previously identified buyer, soliciting proposals to hire a broker, or negotiating directly with interested buyers.
